Job summary

RAM Construction is seeking a Project Engineer to support the project manager and team in documentation, cost control, scheduling, and on‑site supervision. The role emphasizes multitasking from preconstruction through project completion.

The candidate should have 2–3 years of Commercial TI experience, ability to read drawings, and proficiency with MS Office; Procore and MS Project are a plus. The office operates in a fast-paced construction environment in Phoenix.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent preferred.
  • 2–3 years of experience as a Project Engineer in Commercial Construction.
  • Commercial TI (Tenant Improvement) experience required.
  • OSHPD/Medical Office Building experience preferred.
  • Ability to read drawings and understand constructability.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of document control, RFI, and submittal processes.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; Microsoft Project a plus; Procore a plus.
  • Familiarity with CA labor laws and OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the project manager and team with project documentation and control.
  • Support job cost accounting, scheduling, and construction supervision.
  • Maintain daily superintendent reports and ensure project plans meet deadlines.
  • Assist with material procurement, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
  • Help with the project bidding process and coordination with subs.

Job Description

The ideal Project Engineer at RAM Construction will be responsible for assisting the project manager and project team with project documentation and control, job cost accounting, scheduling, and construction supervision efforts. The candidate should be comfortable with multitasking and prioritizing those tasks from preconstruction through completion.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist with on‑site management to ensure project execution success.
  • Identify and mitigate potential project risks before occurrence.
  • Maintain and review daily superintendent reports.
  • Ensure the project plan is moving forward to meet anticipated deadlines.
  • Assist PM as needed with material procurement, tracking, RFI's, submittals, etc.
  • Assist with the project bidding process.
  • Process owner and subcontractors change orders.
  • Set up OAC weekly meetings.
  • Help train or mentor other RAM employees and lead by example.
  • Continuously seek RAM Construction process improvements.
Qualifications

  • 2 - 3 years of experience as a Project Engineer in Commercial Construction Projects.
  • Commercial TI experience required.

  • Experience with Microsoft Project a plus.

  • Familiarity with CA labor laws and OSHA regulations.
