Job summary

Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana is seeking a Project Engineer to support paint and surface finishing initiatives for new model launches. You will drive capital improvement projects, machinery modifications, and process-readiness to meet safety, quality, and delivery targets.

You will lead cross-functional efforts with Production Engineering, Maintenance, Manufacturing, Quality, and OEM suppliers, managing schedules, budgets, and change management in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or 5+ years in manufacturing engineering/project management.
  • Proven track record leading technical projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving with structured methods (PDCA, 5-Why, DMAIC).
  • Ability to interpret and communicate technical requirements clearly.
  • Familiarity with automated manufacturing systems and equipment.
  • PMP and/or Six Sigma certification or similar engineering certs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional projects that support new model introductions and equipment installations/improvements.
  • Develop scope, specifications, and validation plans for tooling, automation and manufacturing systems.
  • Track project schedules, budgets, and deliverables with structured problem-solving.
  • Conduct equipment investigations and root-cause analysis; implement corrective actions.
  • Partner with Production Engineering, Maintenance, Manufacturing, Quality and OEM suppliers.
  • Oversee installation, commissioning and change management with strong safety compliance.
