Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants, Inc. in Oak Ridge, TN, seeks a Project Engineer – Facility Mod Manager to lead engineering activities for centrifuge fabrication equipment and major facility expansion projects for Centrus Energy.

You will direct engineering work, supervise teams, ensure safety, regulatory, and quality requirements, and collaborate with operations, construction, procurement, and project management to deliver reliable fabrication systems on schedule.

Qualifications

• DOE security clearance requirements and background investigation.
• U.S. Citizenship is required for federal contracting.
• Health & Safety training and medical monitoring.
• 8+ years of engineering experience in advanced equipment design or regulated environments.
• Experience leading projects or small technical teams.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Q-level security clearance.
• Strong communication, leadership and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Engineering Manager in planning, directing engineering activities for centrifuge fabrication equipment and facility expansion systems.
• Provide daily leadership, task coordination, and technical support to engineering staff.
• Ensure safety, regulatory, and nuclear material handling compliance.
• Support troubleshooting, reliability improvements and upgrades to equipment and facilities.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, construction, procurement, safety engineering and project management.
• Develop project schedules, engineering cost estimates, technical specifications and procurement packages.
• Participate in design reviews, hazard analyses, risk assessments and readiness evaluations.
• Review and approve engineering drawings, calculations, test procedures, and commissioning plans.
• Monitor contractor performance and ensure quality requirements.
• Provide status updates and technical insights to senior leadership.
