Job summary

Tutor Perini Corporation seeks a Project Engineer for the Newark AirTrain project at Newark Liberty International Airport. The role focuses on planning, coordination, and execution of heavy civil infrastructure work, including airports and rail systems.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of heavy civil construction experience.
  • Experience on airport/airtrain/rail projects preferred.
  • Ability to read construction drawings and contract documents.
  • Strong cost tracking and schedule management.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with daily project administration and controls.
  • Manage submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, change orders, and document control processes.
  • Coordinate with owners, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Track project costs, quantities, productivity, and schedule performance.
  • Support procurement activities, including material tracking and subcontract administration.
  • Prepare logs, reports, meeting minutes, and correspondence.
  • Review contract documents, specifications, and drawings to identify risks and ensure compliance.
  • Develop construction work plans, sequencing, and logistical plans.
  • Participate in project scheduling using Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
  • Support field operations through inspections, testing, surveys, and quality control.
  • Monitor progress and help resolve schedule or cost impacts.
  • Ensure compliance with safety programs and client standards.
  • Assist with project closeout activities, including punch lists and as-built docs.
