Job Summary:

Are you a seasoned Control System Engineer looking for more than just your next job? Join our high-impact team supporting the design and integration of cutting-edge building management systems (BMS) for one of the most advanced data center programs in the world.

As a Project Engineer, you’ll be on the front lines of a large-scale, fast-paced construction effort—owning technical execution from design through commissioning. You'll tackle complex system challenges, lead high-value engineering tasks, and directly support installation and field coordination efforts. This isn’t a behind-the-scenes desk role. You’ll work hand-in-hand with the client, interface daily with field teams, and collaborate with internal project managers, commissioning specialists, and our subcontract partners.

This role is ideal for a self-motivated, technically strong engineer who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys solving real-world problems at scale. You’ll have the autonomy to make decisions, lead design strategy, and mentor up-and-coming engineers while helping drive a mission-critical project to completion.

What makes this exciting:

  • You're not siloed—you're part of a core team responsible for delivering one of the most high-profile BMS integrations in the country
  • You’ll own real technical decisions and be empowered to lead key design and installation efforts
  • You’ll gain exposure to construction, commissioning, and client interactions well beyond typical engineering roles
  • This is a growth path position, with direct visibility to leadership and advancement opportunities

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Brings solid control system or automation experience (4+ years preferred)
  • Is a strong communicator and thrives in a team-first, fast-paced environment
  • Can manage competing priorities and bring clarity to complex technical issues
  • Wants to take ownership—not just execute tasks

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science; Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or other pertinent curriculum combined with relevant technical experience.
  • Typically, 4+ years total experience.
  • Proven Track Record: 2+ years as Lead Control Systems Engineer or equivalent.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Technical Responsibilities:

  • Completely self-sufficient in the field.
  • Lead and assist with start-up and commissioning of control systems.
  • Lead and perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
  • Experienced in reading and interpreting piping & instrumentation diagrams and wiring diagrams. Able to provide feedback regarding field conditions versus drawings.
  • Experienced with Human-Machine Interface (HMI) and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) applications. Specially Aveva and Ignition.
  • Demonstrates deep understanding of the company’s Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Provide review of standard documents generated by others for technical, grammatical, and aesthetic content.
  • Firm understanding of complex control system design.
  • Provide instrumentation specifications for complex control systems.

  • Own technical execution from initial design through commissioning for assigned project scopes, ensuring accuracy, quality, and adherence to schedule.
  • Lead design development and coordination of control systems, working closely with project managers, field teams, and trade partners to align technical solutions with project requirements.
  • Act as the technical point of contact for the client on assigned workstreams—driving communication, resolving challenges, and ensuring expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Solve complex design and field integration issues in real time, collaborating across disciplines to keep the project moving forward.
  • Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance, technical review, and support to help them grow and deliver at a high level.
  • Participate in jobsite walks and installation reviews, verifying quality, supporting punch resolution, and ensuring successful implementation of controls infrastructure.
  • Identify risks and proactively develop solutions, escalating when necessary while maintaining ownership and accountability.
  • Provide clear, actionable feedback on project progress, risks, and design challenges to leadership and teammates.
  • Support commercial success by contributing to change management efforts, identifying potential add-scope opportunities, and aligning execution with project goals.
