Job summary

SE&M Constructors, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented professional to assist the Project Manager in overseeing mechanical and plumbing construction projects. You will help manage safety, quality, and efficiency while coordinating materials, subcontracts, and subcontractors.

You will conduct field- and office-based tasks, maintain records, and support cost and manpower forecasting. This role offers growth toward senior project management within our team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Familiarity with Trimble and Quote Soft estimating software or ability to learn quickly.
• Basic understanding of NC Mechanical & Plumbing Codes and industry standards.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Desire to learn and advance into a senior project management role.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager in oversight and coordination of safety, quality, and efficiency for Mechanical & Plumbing Construction Division projects.
• Assist with procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontracts as needed to meet project specs.
• Conduct regular quality control walk-downs and safety audits on assigned projects.
• Forecast project costs and manpower in coordination with the PM.
• Attend weekly manpower meetings to discuss needs for upcoming weeks.
• Manage submittals, RFIs, drawings, correspondence, and change orders for assigned projects.
• Coordinate and track rental equipment on the jobsite.
• Maintain project records and ensure information is documented and secured.
• Develop positive relationships while ensuring contractual compliance with all parties.
• Help PMs resolve client concerns and provide leadership to field teams.
• Attend job-site weekly meetings and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Build relationships with clients, designers, subcontractors, and vendors across departments.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

• Basic proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support the Project Manager (PM) in direct oversight and coordination with the overall management and execution of safety, quality, and efficiency requirements for assigned Mechanical & Plumbing Construction Division projects.


• Assist as directed with procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontracts as needed to conform to project specifications.


• Conduct regular scheduled quality control walk downs and safety audits of assigned projects.


• Regularly coordinate with Project Manager to forecast project costs and manpower for assigned projects.


• Attend and participate in weekly SE&M Mechanical & Plumbing Construction Division manpower meetings to discuss, forecast, and manage department manpower needs for upcoming weeks.


• Manage as directed, all submittals, RFI's, drawings, correspondence, and change orders for assigned projects.


• Coordinate and track all rental equipment on assigned jobsite.


• Maintain all project records to ensure relevant information is documented and secured.


• Develop positive business relationships while ensuring contractual compliance with all parties.


• Help project managers resolve client concerns.


• Provide leadership and support to field teams.


• Attend job-site weekly meetings for assigned projects.


• Monitor and enforce current regulatory standards and company safety guidelines.


• Help develop and maintain working relationships with clients, designers, subcontractors, and vendors.


• Work as a team with other departments and company divisions.
