Job summary

Comfort Temp Company’s CT Mechanical division in Orlando is seeking a Project Engineer to support the Project Management team with tracking, scheduling and documentation for mechanical projects. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in project coordination and contracting.

You will collaborate with estimators, vendors, and subcontractors, maintain logs, assist with turnover meetings, and help manage submittals, POs, and change orders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field preferred but not required
• Entry-level to 2 years of experience in a project support or coordination role in construction or mechanical contracting
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); familiarity with project management software is a plus
• Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication abilities; proactive problem-solving

Responsibilities

• Coordinate project information from Estimators, input job details on tracking logs, and document vendors/subcontractors with PO needs
• Coordinate and schedule turnover meetings for mechanical projects in Jacksonville and Gainesville
• Request lead times for materials and equipment and log them for PMs
• Submit ODP requests, track approvals, and manage invoice submissions for owner payment
• Ensure subcontractors receive current project schedules to maintain alignment
• Review plans to compile submittal lists and request submittals from vendors/subcontractors
• Maintain project tracking log with statuses on submittals, materials, POs, change orders
• Update plan revisions for internal and subcontractor files
• Issue POs and subcontracts to subcontractors and log changes in QuickBooks Workforce
• Collect job-specific certificates of insurance for subcontractors in Jacksonville and Gainesville
• Create and maintain O&M manuals and assist with owner training scheduling
• Assist Project Administrators and Project Managers with admin tasks
• Act as first line of contact for all incoming calls for CT Mechanical
