Highland Consulting Group seeks an experienced Assistant Project Manager or Project Engineer for a Regional Mechanical Contractor in the Pittsburgh, PA area. You will work on commercial and industrial mechanical systems, including piping, plumbing, and sheet metal, with a clear path toward Project Management.

Responsibilities include assisting the Project Manager, handling submittals and RFIs, negotiating change orders, and maintaining budgets and schedules.

Qualifications

• Solid communication skills – both verbal and written.
• Ability to establish timelines and budgets for projects.
• Experience in cost estimation and negotiating.
• Ability to multi-task across multiple domains.
• Ability to lead productive, multi-discipline meetings.
• Proven record of career stability and project management success.
• 3+ years experience as an Assistant Project Manager on large-scale projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager in managing and supervising all phases of assigned projects.
• Manage the submittal process and respond to RFIs as needed.
• Assist in negotiating all change orders and maintain change order logs.
• Work with the Project Manager to manage the project budget and approve expenses.
• Interface with the Owner on all projects assigned.
• Assemble and maintain complete project records and close-out documents.
• Prepare and manage project schedules.
• Coordinate punch-list inspections with the Superintendent and Owner’s Representative.
• Assist in subcontractor buyout and equipment procurement.

We are working with a Regional Mechanical Contractor in the Pittsburgh, PA area, that is recruiting for an experienced Assistant Project Manager or Project Engineer. We are recruiting successful candidates that preferably have a 3 years experience or more as an Assistant Project Manager working with Commercial or Industrial Mechanical projects.

Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Assist the Project Manager in managing and supervising all phases of assigned projects

• Work with the Project Manager to perform project punch-list inspection(s), in coordination with superintendent and the Owner’s Representative, and issue punch list to all relevant subcontractors
• Contract administration
• Assist in the Buyout of subcontracts & equipment
