Job summary

HyAxiom, Inc. in Connecticut seeks a Manufacturing Project Manager to lead the implementation of new processes and equipment, aiming to increase production capacity, reduce costs, and manage budgets.

This role requires close interaction with multiple engineering disciplines and hourly functions in a fast-paced environment. You will define functional requirements, work with vendors, and lead PFMEA and EH&S reviews, while maintaining document control and project schedules.

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering or related field required.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Prior PM experience with scheduling and budgeting responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of implementing new manufacturing processes and equipment, including reviews, procurement, installation, and budget management.
  • Define functional requirements, create statements of work, and prepare RFQs and documentation.
  • Collaborate with Product/Manufacturing Engineering and Assembly teams to determine process and equipment needs.
  • Lead PFMEA and EH&S reviews related to new tooling and equipment changes.
  • Maintain document revision control and vendor communications; coordinate with external vendors to maintain schedule.

Job Information

The primary responsibility of this position is to manage projects which support Manufacturing with a focus on increased production capacity, cost reduction, and new process implementation. This is a role which involves close interaction with numerous engineering disciplines and hourly functions. Ability to work in a team environment is a must. This position holder must be comfortable in a fast paced, dynamic work environment. Individual must also be detail oriented, organized, and able to multitask effectively.

Role & Responsibility
  • Take responsibility for leading all aspects of the implementation of new manufacturing processes and equipment including Concept Review, Preliminary Design Review, Detailed Design Review, procurement, installation and budget management
  • Define Functional Requirements, create Statements of Work, and prepare Requests for Quote and all associated documentation
  • Work with Product/Manufacturing Engineering and Assembly Area personnel to determine process and equipment requirements
  • Lead Peer Reviews, PFMEA’s, and EH&S Reviews related to new tooling and equipment changes
  • Maintain document revision control and document all vendor communications
  • Work closely with outside vendors and internal groups to maintain project schedule
Education
  • BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Chemical, Process, Industrial Engineering, or other related field
  • PMP certification
Experience
  • Prior project management experience including ownership of schedule and budget
  • Proficiency with varied manufacturing concepts such as VSM, 3P, Lean, SPC, Capacity Analysis, JIT, MRP, Kanban, TQM, PM, etc.
  • Experience with Capital Equipment procurement and Installation
  • Familiarity with electromechanical production equipment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and proactively
  • Varied computer skills including MS Project, and Office
  • Adaptability to complete various tasks as business needs change
