Context/Scope:
This position requires a strong knowledge of high-speed bottling and liquid processing, plant operations across various disciplines including planning, maintenance, scheduling, processing, packaging, procurement, and project management. The Engineering Manager will work with maintenance to develop a 5-year asset care and replacement strategy, including capital expenditure for packaging lines and processing assets. The role directly manages 3 Controls Engineers and provides dotted line management guidance to three Instrumentation and Controls engineers. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential. The candidate should be innovative, able to maintain momentum, and foster a healthy industrial climate. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment is crucial. The candidate must understand and align with the business needs at optimal economic and quality standards, working across functions such as Operations, Quality, Safety, Finance, and Procurement.
Purpose of Role:
Lead the development, execution, and delivery of plant capital projects, ensuring compliance with project guidelines in support of Diageo Plainfield's strategic goals. Provide technical leadership in project management, lead problem-solving teams on packaging and process issues, and support strategic planning, innovation, and cost analysis. This role is vital for delivering operational reliability metrics.
Key Outputs:
Partner with maintenance to develop training plans for controls issues, monitor progress, and mentor staff. Support production and maintenance teams during shifts to resolve issues, identify training gaps, and ensure safety, quality, environment, and food safety standards are met.
