Context/Scope

The position requires a strong knowledge of high-speed bottling and liquid processing, plant operations, including planning, maintenance, scheduling, processing, packaging, procurement, and project management. The Engineering Manager will work with maintenance to develop a 5-year asset care and replacement strategy, including capital expenditure for packaging lines and processing assets. The role manages 3 Controls Engineers and provides guidance to three Instrumentation and Controls engineers. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential. The candidate should be innovative, able to prioritize multiple projects, and work across functions such as Operations, Quality, Safety, Finance, and Procurement.

Purpose Of Role

Lead plant capital projects, ensure compliance with project guidelines, and support the Diageo Plainfield Leadership Team strategy. Provide technical leadership in project management, lead problem-solving teams, and support strategic planning, innovation, and cost analysis. Critical to delivering plant operational reliability metrics.

Key Outputs

1. Manage project budgets and objectives, including change control, training, scope development, and stakeholder communication.
2. Lead reliability projects on packaging lines and processing areas.
3. Guide Production and Maintenance teams, develop training plans, and support continuous improvement.
4. Ensure projects meet Safety, Quality, Environment, and Food Safety standards.

Qualifications And Experience Required

• Minimum 10 years in project engineering/management or similar.
• Excellent communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and use MS Office (MS Project a plus).
• Strong leadership background and expertise in Allen Bradley ladder logic programming.

Preferred And Beneficial Experience

• Knowledge of quality systems, APQP, statistical process control, Six Sigma Green Belt, Rockwell Automation RS Batch, SAP CMMS, lean manufacturing, design for manufacturing/assembly, measurement system analysis, financial NPV analysis.
