Job summary

EMCOR Group, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer 2 to support the Project Manager and Superintendent on assigned projects in Florida.

The role involves handling routine tasks, coordinating information, and ensuring quality delivery while maintaining strong client service and communication. Ideal candidates will have a BS in Engineering or Construction Management and 3–4 years of project engineering experience in pump station or heavy civil construction, with familiarity in scheduling, contracts,

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or Construction Management required.
• 3–4 years experience as Project Engineer in Pump Station or Heavy Civil Construction.
• Estimating skills a plus.
• Familiar with grading, drainage, paving (asphalt and concrete), bridge construction, retaining walls, plumbing, electrical and mechanical and all other pump station construction scopes.
• Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong working knowledge of Excel and Word.
• Procore experience is preferred.
• Autodesk Revit experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive, review, forward and track status of submittals
• Initiate, prepare, review, track and distribute RFIs
• Assist in management of project permit process
• Track and inspect material deliveries
• Hiring and recommend termination of subcontracts/vendors including negotiations, sub agreements, material agreements and PO’s
• Management of Subcontractors and vendors schedule, performance, and payments, including the exercise of decision-making to reschedule and/or re-coordinate work to ensure compliance with applicable project schedule
• Ensure compliance with Small Business requirements
• Complete understanding of the Contract including HPA’s contractual obligations and the Owner’s obligations
• Develop and maintain site logistics plan with Superintendent staff
• Ensure timely notices as required to the Owner to protect HPA interest regarding extra work, design changes, delays, impact, etc. which requires independent contract analysis
• Ensure project delivers a quality product meeting HPA’s high quality standards

Job Summary

The Project Engineer 2 assist and supports Project Manager and Superintendent on the assigned projects. The position works under direct supervision, perform routine daily activities and gathers and distributes information. The Project Engineer must be a flexible and adaptable team-player, as well as have strong communication and client service skills.

• Estimating skills a plus
