Job summary

Hoar is seeking a Project Engineer to support project delivery, planning, and administration. You will work with Project Managers, Superintendents, and clients to coordinate tasks, logs, and reports for successful project outcomes.

The role involves assisting with RFIs, submittals, bid documents, and coordination across management tools. Local travel to sites is expected as projects progress.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Building Science, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • 0-2 years of experience in large, complex facility construction and on-site management.
  • Basic MEP knowledge is required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Develop industry relationships and expand networks with potential to generate future sales opportunities.
  • Create and maintain internal and external project logs.
  • Maintain internal and external reports as necessary.
  • Assist the Project Manager with updating project tasks in software systems and handling RFIs, Submittals, Drawing Logs, and other management tools.
  • Ensure bid documents are sent to bidders for various bid packages and build the bidders list.
  • Maintain current construction documents.
  • Receive and act on RFIs from contractors.
  • Review and process submittals and maintain the submittal log.
  • Support day-to-day project management including pay requests, change orders, RFIs, submittals, contracts, purchase orders and closeout.

Skills

Basic MEP knowledge
Valid Driver's License
LEED AP Preferred

Job description

The Project Engineer is responsible to help facilitate project delivery and administrative requirements related to planning, management and communication through effective day-to-day administration and coordination of projects. Works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and other project team members, including clients, in support of the success of a project.

Responsibilities
  • Develop industry relationships and expand professional networks that have potential to generate future sales opportunities.
  • Create and maintain the internal and external project logs as necessary.
  • Maintain internal and external reports as necessary
  • Assist the Project Manager(s) with updating project tasks in software systems in conjunction with processing Requests for Information, Submittals, Drawing Logs, and other management tools.
  • Ensure the proper bid documents are sent to bidders for various bid packages as they come online. Build and maintain the bidders list.
  • Maintain current construction documents.
  • Receive and act accordingly on RFI's from contractors
  • Review and process submittals; maintain submittal log.
  • Support the management of the day-to-day project including but not limited to; responding to pay requests, change orders, RFI's, submittals, contracts, purchase orders and closeout.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Building Science, Construction Management, Civil Engineering
  • 0-2 years of experience in large, complex facility construction and on-site experience in the management of new construction and the renovation of existing assets
  • Basic MEP knowledge
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Valid Driver's License Required
  • LEED AP Preferred
