Job summary

SGS North America Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer - General Safety responsible for engineering tasks to certify client products to applicable safety standards.

You will serve as the technical lead on projects and collaborate with the project manager to ensure timely delivery. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in electrical/electronics/mechanical engineering, 2–5 years in product safety testing, and familiarity with standards like UL and IEC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering.
• 2–5 years of experience in product safety testing or compliance engineering.
• Familiar with UL 62368-1, UL 60730-1, IEC 61010-1 and related standards.
• Understanding of NRTL certification processes and CB Scheme documentation.

Responsibilities

• Technical owner of multiple projects and coordinate with the PM to meet deadlines.
• Serve as technical liaison between client and SGS and report milestones.
• Perform construction review against UL/IEC standards.
• Prepare TRFs, CDFs, and client-facing certification letters.
• Develop test plans for electrical, dielectric, and mechanical safety testing.
