Job summary

Worthington Enterprises, based in Columbus, Ohio, seeks a Project Engineer to lead moderately complex projects across design and implementation. You will manage scope, budgets, schedules, and coordinate with Sales and other departments to support production improvements.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree in engineering and at least five years of related experience, with strong communication, problem-solving, and CAD/PLC proficiency. Travel up to 50% may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of related engineering experience.
• Experience with APQP, Flow Charts, Control Plans, FMEA, PPAP, etc.

Job description

Supports a broad range of moderately complex projects (design, implementation, etc.). Projects could range from new equipment, procurement and installation; machine safety improvements; maintenance projects; equipment enhancement; new products; sales support, training support, etc. Projects may be small stand-alone projects or portions of a larger project with the larger project being managed by others. Also troubleshoots current production equipment/processes for maximum quality throughput. Generates cost savings ideas throughout facility.

• Successful delivery of projects on time, within budget, and with required functionality
• Effective monitoring and communication of project cost and schedule to stakeholders
• Accurate integration of new systems and equipment
• Proactive risk identification and mitigation throughout the project timeline

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

• Hands-on, independent contributor who thrives in team environments
• Ability to travel 25-50%

Education & Experience
