Job summary

The Thrasher Group in Canton, Ohio is seeking a motivated Project Engineer to join our Civil Engineering team focusing on land development and energy-sector infrastructure. You will contribute to residential, commercial, and industrial site development projects, applying design and analysis skills under senior engineers.

This hands-on role offers real project responsibility, growth opportunities, and a path toward licensure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program is required.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire is required.
• Preferred: 1–5 years of relevant civil engineering experience (internship counts).
• Plus: PE licensure or active progress toward licensure.
• Plus: Knowledge of WV and Mid-Atlantic regulatory requirements for land development and energy projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering design, analysis, and calculations for land development projects (grading, drainage, utilities, site layout).
• Support design and coordination for energy-sector infrastructure (electric, fiber, oil & gas).
• Prepare construction plans, specifications, and technical reports for site development and energy clients.
• Assist with project management tasks including schedule tracking, client communications, and coordination with subconsultants and contractors.
• Conduct site visits, field investigations, and construction observation as needed.
• Support permitting and regulatory submissions with state and federal agencies (E&S and stormwater).
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and surveyors across land development and energy projects.
• Contribute to proposals and scopes of work for land development and energy-sector clients.
