Job summary

Fisher Arnold in Memphis is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Land Development team. You will contribute to residential, commercial, industrial, and mixed-use site design, grading, drainage, and roadways.

The role requires a BS in civil engineering, a Tennessee Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain within one year, and at least four years of land development experience. You will produce construction plans, coordinate approvals, and prepare technical reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from ABET accredited university.
• Professional Engineer licensed in Tennessee or ability to become licensed within one year.
• Minimum of four years of land development design experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform design work for land development projects including site planning, grading, drainage, and traffic control.

• Technical report writing.

We’re looking for a Project Engineer to join our Land Development team in Memphis and contribute to a wide variety of residential, commercial, industrial, and mixed-use projects across the region.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform design work related to Land Development projects, consisting of single-family residential developments, consisting of single-family residential developments, multi‑family residential developments, commercial, industrial and institutional sites, and mixed‑use developments, including, but not limited to, site planning and layout, grading and drainage, stormwater management, erosion control, sanitary sewer systems, domestic and fire distribution, roadways, and traffic control
• Produce construction plans for land development projects, and work with the team to obtain approvals from jurisdictions having authority
• Technical report writing

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from ABET accredited University required (master’s degree preferred)
• Professional Engineer licensed in the State of Tennessee, or the ability to become licensed within one (1) year preferred
• Minimum of Four (4) years responsible experience in performing land development design and plans production
• Experience in utilization of Autodesk Civil3D in design and production of site construction plans is a must. Experience in utilization of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel in particular), ArcGIS, HEC‑RAS, and other hydrologic software is a plus
• Strong attention to detail, highly organized work ethic
• Strong technical writing and computer skills
