Goodfellow Bros Inc invites you to apply for the Project Engineer Intern Summer 2027 in Kapolei, HI. You will assist under supervision with construction-related duties, gaining practical experience in layout, form design, and subcontract monitoring.

The internship emphasizes change orders, plan checks, document control, quality control, and safety monitoring, under guidance from Project Engineers, Project Managers, or Estimators. Capable students will learn daily project engineering tasks.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be legally eligible to work in the US without employer sponsorship.
• Must be currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related major, from an accredited university.
• Travel may be required.
• Valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager/Project Engineers/Estimators with all construction related duties.
• Assist Project Engineer and Project Manager in tracking work hour utilization and productivity.
• Maintain up-to-date file of material suppliers, current labor laws, equipment rental rates and qualified subcontractors by category.
• May assist field personnel in a variety of manual tasks on construction projects.
• Order suppliers and other materials, as needed.
• May coordinate material deliveries and subcontract work in accordance with progress schedule and adjust as necessary.
• May resolve or assist in resolving design and detail problems with owners, design agencies, suppliers and subcontractors.
• May attend subcontractor job meetings and other construction meetings.
• Prepare cost breakdowns and reviews with Project Engineer and Project Manager for concurrence.
• Prepare data for monthly invoices and related cost reporting, and submit in a timely manner.
• Ensure details and submittals are received, submitted and processed, and supervise submittal of control data.
• Prepare special reports as requested by Project Engineer and/or Project Manager.
• Review timecards daily and communicate discrepancies to payroll.
• Answer phones and perform other clerical tasks such as screening calls and filing.

Education

Bachelor's degree in construction management or civil engineering
