Job summary

Brightpath Associates LLC seeks a Project Engineer to lead multi-disciplinary technical projects from inception to production readiness. You will provide technical leadership and project management for new product initiatives and serve as a primary contact for customers, suppliers, and internal teams.

You will oversee schedule, budget, technical execution, and financial performance, driving decisions with minimal supervision while ensuring on-time delivery and quality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Plastics Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
  • Demonstrable project management and communication skills.
  • Solid knowledge of injection molding processes and operations.
  • Solid knowledge of injection mold tooling design and construction.
  • Good working knowledge of engineering and commodity resins.
  • Good working knowledge of drafting, tolerancing, and GD&T.
  • Intermediate 3D CAD skills with the ability to operate CAD systems for translating, viewing, and modifying customer design files.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and manage projects with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage technical and new product projects from inception through production readiness.
  • Provide technical leadership and project management across engineering, manufacturing, tooling, suppliers, customers, and other functional teams.
  • Communicate project progress, milestones, risks, issues, and corrective actions to project stakeholders.
  • Manage overall project schedules, budgets, scope, and financial performance.
  • Develop, maintain, and publish project timelines using DELMIAWorks/IQMS and other available project-management resources.
  • Develop project budgets and maintain responsibility for the financial performance of assigned projects.
  • Prepare cost estimates and customer quotations for tooling and support equipment.
  • Participate in the quoting and project-development process.
  • Review customer designs to identify manufacturing issues, tooling concerns, poor steel conditions, cost-reduction opportunities, and potential quality improvements.
  • Act as the primary technical and project contact for customers.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and internal departments to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to customer expectations.
  • Schedule and lead project review meetings.
  • Provide oversight of project activities and ensure milestones are achieved.
  • Track and manage project scope changes and ensure schedule and financial impacts are properly documented and resolved.
  • Coordinate activities with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, quality, purchasing, and other departments.
  • Negotiate practical solutions when conflicting priorities or project challenges arise.
  • Identify and elevate project issues, risks, and delays when appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively with fellow employees to achieve departmental and company objectives.
  • Approach challenges with a focus on permanent, robust solutions and continuous improvement.
  • Manage time, workload, and project priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Follow all applicable regulatory requirements and company procedures with a strong focus on safety and quality.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Job description

The Project Engineer will lead and manage technical projects across multiple disciplines from project inception through production readiness.   • Knowledge of formal project management methodologies and project management software.
