Job summary

JHL Constructors is seeking a Project Engineer to back the field management team and support assigned projects. You will assist the Superintendent and Project Manager, gather and distribute information to the team and subcontractors, and help maintain schedules and quality control.

The role requires either a Bachelor’s in Construction Management or at least two years in infrastructure construction, with proficiency in Procore, MS Office, and Primavera P6.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or 2+ years in infrastructure construction.
• Proficiency with Procore, Microsoft Office and Primavera P6.
• Ability to read drawings and specifications; strong estimating knowledge.
• Strong initiative, communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Team player with customer-service mindset.

Responsibilities

• Oversee document control: submittals, RFIs, ASIs, change management.
• Assist with site safety documentation and CPM scheduling.
• Support QC conformance and punch list administration.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers with the Project Superintendent/PM.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Reports to: Project Manager and Project Executive

FLSA: Exempt

JOB SUMMARY:

The Project Engineer position will provide effective and efficient support to the project’s field management team and support assigned projects or project areas, along with supporting the Superintendent and Project Manager on an assigned project or multiple projects. The position will perform routine daily activities and assists in gathering and distributing information to team members and subcontractors.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Core Duties / Responsibilities:

• Oversees document control processes (submittals, RFI’s, ASI’s, change management, etc.)
• Assist with site safety documentation
• Assist with developing and updating project CPM schedule

• Assist in verification of quality of work put in place (QC conformance & punch list administration)
• Facilitating subcontractor and supplier coordination, and procurement working in conjunction with the Project Superintendent and Project Manager leading the project team.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education / Experience:

• Completion of Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or minimum two (2) years of experience in the infrastructure construction industry.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

• Proficiency in Procore, Microsoft Office, and Primavera P6
• Strong computer skills
• Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications.
