Job summary

Hoar is seeking a Project Engineer to facilitate project delivery and administrative tasks across planning, management, and communication. You will work with project managers, superintendents, clients, and the project team to support successful delivery on complex facilities.

The role involves outdoor site work, coordination of RFIs, submittals, and closeout activities, and requires a driven, detail-oriented professional with a Building Science or Construction Management background.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in building science, construction management, or civil engineering preferred.
• 0–2 years of experience in large, complex facility construction.
• Basic knowledge of MEP systems.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Valid driver's license required.
• LEED AP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop industry relationships and expand networks for potential sales opportunities.
• Create and maintain project logs as necessary.
• Maintain internal and external reports as necessary.
• Assist PMs with updating project tasks in software and processing RFIs, submittals, drawing logs, and other tools.
• Ensure bid documents are sent to bidders and maintain bidders list.
• Maintain current construction documents.
• Receive and act on RFIs from contractors; review and process submittals and logs.
• Support day-to-day project management including pay requests, change orders, RFIs, submittals, contracts, purchase orders and closeout.

The Project Engineer is responsible to help facilitate project delivery and administrative requirements related to planning, management and communication through effective day-to-day administration and coordination of projects. Works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and other project team members, including clients, in support of the success of a project.

Responsibilities:

• Develop industry relationships and expand professional networks that have potential to generate future sales opportunities.
• Create and maintain the internal and external project logs as necessary.
• Maintain internal and external reports as necessary
• Assist the Project Manager(s) with updating project tasks in software systems in conjunction with processing Requests for Information, Submittals, Drawing Logs, and other management tools.
• Ensure the proper bid documents are sent to bidders for various bid packages as they come online. Build and maintain the bidders list.
• Maintain current construction documents.
• Receive and act accordingly on RFI's from contractors
• Review and process submittals; maintain submittal log.
• Support the management of the day-to-day project including but not limited to; responding to pay requests, change orders, RFI's, submittals, contracts, purchase orders and closeout.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Building Science, Construction Management, Civil Engineering preferred
• 0-2 years of experience in large, complex facility construction and on-site experience in the management of new construction and the renovation of existing assets
• Basic MEP knowledge
• Proficient in MS Office
• Valid Driver's License Required
• LEED AP Preferred
