Job summary

X Energy, LLC is seeking a Project Engineer III to join our Oak Ridge team. The role delivers moderately complex engineering scope with growing independence, coordinating across disciplines to meet project objectives and ensure quality and regulatory alignment.

The candidate will plan, coordinate, and execute engineering tasks, support risk management, interface management, and contribute to execution plans while maintaining programmatic delivery and technical integrity across interfaces with

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or related technical field from an accredited college or university.
• Typically five to eight years of engineering, project engineering, or related experience in energy/nuclear/high-tech sectors.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering activities in a project-based environment.
• Experience supporting project execution, resolving cross-functional issues, and delivering across scope.
• Strong knowledge of engineering design processes, project execution practices, interface management, scheduling, and documentation control.
• Experience in regulated environments, with familiarity with QA requirements and controlled deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute moderately complex engineering scope aligned with objectives, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
• Provide technical inputs and coordinate activities across multidisciplinary teams and partners.
• Support resolution of moderately complex technical and execution issues affecting scope and delivery.
• Contribute to project priorities, execution strategies, and integration plans for timely delivery.
• Track deliverables, interfaces, decisions, assumptions, and issues to support disciplined execution.
• Identify risks and assist in mitigation strategies with leadership guidance.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure requirements and interfaces are understood and managed.
• Integrate engineering work products into broader execution plans and comply with contractual and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in reviews and cross-functional planning to support decision-making and issue resolution.
• Develop and maintain engineering documentation and logs for assigned scope.
