Job summary

CMTS LLC in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Project Engineer III to support the BuildLACCD program. The role focuses on technical engineering for capital construction, modernization, and sustainability projects tied to the LA Community College District bond program.

You will coordinate with multiple stakeholders across planning through closeout, participate in design/ construction meetings, and help manage risks, schedules, budgets, and documentation for complex education facilities projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field.
• Seven years of professional experience in construction/engineering roles.
• Experience reading plans, specs, and shop drawings.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and engineering support to PMO and construction managers.
• Coordinate with PMO, colleges, contractors, architects, engineers, inspectors, and staff.
• Lead design or construction meetings when needed.
• Perform field checks on construction, demolition, rehabilitation, or repairs.
• Review change orders, submittals, and project documentation.
• Prepare scopes of work and project status reports.
• Maintain project files in electronic and paper formats.
• Review submittals for conformance to plans and specifications.
• Generate meeting minutes and proposed board actions.
• Ensure record drawings are maintained prior to payments.
