Job summary

Tiltedge Solutions in Savannah, GA is seeking a Project Engineer to maintain excellence in developing, executing, and controlling assigned projects to achieve plant goals. You will conduct analyses for new facilities and enhancements to optimize productive capability, with emphasis on safety and cost control.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering required.
  • 5+ years of engineering/project management experience in manufacturing or similar environment.
  • Experience managing capital projects from concept through commissioning/startup.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Knowledge of OSHA general industry safety and environmental compliance.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace/G Suite and other office software.

Responsibilities

  • Lead capital projects involving equipment upgrades, process improvements, facility modifications, and new equipment installations.
  • Manage the complete project lifecycle, including scope development, engineering design, cost estimates, capital justification, installation, commissioning, startup, and turnover.
  • Develop project schedules, budgets, technical specifications, and detailed engineering scopes.
  • Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, contractors, vendors, OEMs, and engineering consultants.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for manufacturing equipment and plant operations.
  • Identify opportunities for equipment and process improvements using current technologies and engineering best practices.
  • Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex equipment and operational issues.
  • Manage internal maintenance teams and external contractors during project execution.
  • Develop and maintain engineering standards related to equipment, project execution, design, safety, and cost control.
  • Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Support new products, equipment, and system development.
  • Promote and enforce OSHA, environmental, and plant safety requirements.

Job description

Responsible for maintaining excellence in developing, executing and controlling assigned projects to achieve plant goals. Through expert application of engineering techniques and principles, the incumbent will conduct analyses and investigations pertaining to construction of new facilities and enhancements for existing facilities to optimize productive capability of the plant. We encourage the Project Engineer to make sound recommendations, considering such factors as cost, maintainability, facility of production and availability of materials and equipment with emphasis on safety and optimum performance. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, highly adaptive and capable of managing multiple engineering assignments.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering required.
  • 5+ years of engineering/project management experience, preferably within manufacturing, roofing, building products, or a similar continuous-process environment.
  • Proven experience managing capital projects from concept through commissioning/startup.
  • Strong knowledge of project scope, scheduling, budgeting, installation, and downtime management.
  • Experience working with maintenance teams, contractors, vendors, and production personnel.
  • Strong multi-disciplinary engineering and project management skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, general industry safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Proficiency with computer applications and Google Workspace/G Suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Familiarity with structured troubleshooting methodologies such as Kepner-Tregoe.

Physical Requirements

  • The position may require frequent walking, standing, climbing, reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, carrying, and handling materials.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. may be required.
  • May involve working in manufacturing areas with exposure to heat, cold, humidity, wet conditions, noise, vibration, temperature changes, and industrial hazards.
  • Appropriate safety procedures and PPE must be followed.
