Austin Commercial is seeking a Project Engineer for the LAX Gateway Project in Los Angeles, CA. Key responsibilities include coordinating submittals, RFIs, and subcontractor payments, supporting estimating, and ensuring on-time delivery.

Requires B.S. in construction management/science, 2 years in construction, and OSHA 30 training, with potential internal growth within

Qualifications

• 2 years’ work experience in the construction industry.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Industry Outreach Training required (may obtain within first year).
• Experience with RFI, submittals, and punch-list.

Responsibilities

• Notify subcontractors of commencement dates and expedit deliveries to avoid delays.
• Participate in detailed estimating of cost and construction time for proposed changes; update master schedule accordingly.
• Prepare submittal schedules and coordinate with subs; manage submittals and logs; ensure timely delivery.
• Prepare reports such as material, submittal, RFI, and logs as required by owners and procedures.
• Assist PM with subcontracts and resolve interpretation/execution issues; flag problems and propose actions.
• Assist in verification of monthly subcontractor payment requests.
• Locate suppliers and verify quantities, prices, and quality; review invoices as needed.
• Respond to RFIs from owners/subcontractors; prepare RFIs for architect/engineer clarifications.
• Assist in compiling close-out documents (as-builts, warranties, manuals) for delivery to owner.
• Participate in jobsite safety per Safety & Health Manual.
• When not on project, work in Estimating on detailed cost estimates and value engineering.
