Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace is seeking a Project Engineer II (Finance) in South Bend, IN on a hybrid schedule. You will lead Phase 6 ECN processing, act as Design Authority, and coordinate with ISC Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality to ensure product integrity and timely updates.

Responsibilities include technical substantiation analysis, coordinating DWG changes, interfacing with customers for approval packages, and supporting program cost, schedule and risk management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
  • 2 or more years of professional experience in engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Own Phase 6 ECN design authority for dwg changes with engineering teams for resolution.
  • Lead technical substantiation analysis (stress, material, variation, testing) to ensure product integrity.
  • Interface with customers for approval packages and meetings as needed.
  • Work with ISC Engineering/Manufacturing, Operations & Quality to assess impact on prioritization and root cause actions.
  • Work independently in a cross-functional team and integrate with ISC effort events and agile projects.
  • Provide support for program cost, schedule, performance & risk mitigation.
  • Develop schedule milestones and monitor project performance metrics.
  • Promote and implement improvements in engineering quality and productivity.

Job description

Project Engineer II (Finance)

As a Project Engineer II here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will be part of a team assessing and driving achievement of program specific performance within Honeywell Global Engineering Services and the Chief Engineering/Product Engineering organization. Responsibilities will include MRB (Material Review Board) certification, Momentum Factory Support, DMAIC and Supplier support activities impacting the Honeywell Aerospace South Bend Location and the sister divisions supporting that facility.

In addition, you will work with Class II Design Authority for the wheels & Brakes at Site for Phase 6 ECNs supporting ISC and will be leading the Engineering effort to release ECNs (Engineering Change Notifications). You will partner with world class engineer's supporting sites on day-to-day operations, product execution along the whole production pipeline and delivery to final customer, as well as drive improvements in engineering quality and productivity.

You will report directly to our Senior Engineering Manager, and you'll work out of our South Bend, IN location on a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities
  • Class II Delegated Design Authority for Phase 6 ECNs (Dwg changes in a production support environment); including Eng assessment, ECN generation, and coordination with Engineering teams for resolution to various Engineering actions driven by Factory support and supplier requests.
  • Technical assessment execution and coordination with extended engineering teams for substantiation analysis such stress, alternate Material, dimensional variation, qualification and testing, engineering approval requirement execution etc. to ensure product integrity for both day-to-day operations support and supplier requesting Engineering actions.
  • Technical customer interface for submitting approval packages for Dwg changes, this may require meetings, documentation preparation and coordination with various Customer support teams.
  • Work closely with ISC Engineering/Manufacturing, Operations & Quality for insight on impact by engineering actions for prioritization on execution, this will be related to process or yield improvements requiring a dwg update or implementing into a dwg a root caused properly documented on RCA method.
  • Work independently & effectively in a cross functional team's approach.
  • Integration with ISC effort events as well as agile projects to review proposed processing changes to ensure product integrity.
  • Provide support for program cost, schedule, performance & risk mitigation.
  • Risk mitigation approach on project execution in a timely manner.
  • Budget analysis.
  • Schedule and Milestone development/mgmt.

Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
  • 2 or more years of professional experience in engineering
