Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a lead technical resource to support multiple projects. You will guide project teams, interpret plans, assemble submittals, and procure equipment and subcontractors as needed.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s in Engineering, 3+ years of experience, and proficiency with HVAC/plumbing systems, CADD, and MS Office. Excellent communication is required for stakeholder collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or equivalent with engineering background required.
• At least 3 years of relevant project experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and plumbing plans.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Proficiency with CADD and MS Office tools is expected.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with management and stakeholders to inform on project timelines and budgets.
• Manages and expedites change orders; assesses impact of changes.
• Interprets plans and specifications for project execution.
• Prepares submittal packages and essential project documentation.
• Procures equipment/materials and participates in subcontractor selection.

Job description

Position Summary

This position is responsible for supporting the project team on several smaller or larger complex projects. Serves as a lead technical resource on smaller projects.

Position Details

• Collaborates with management and stakeholders and keeps them informed on all issues affecting project timeline and budget.
• Manages change orders. Ensure they are completed accurately and tracked as required. Expedites material as needed. Estimates the impact of project changes.
• Provides interpretation of plans and specifications.
• Assembles complete submittal packages and other required project documentation information.
• Procures equipment and materials and services; and participates in selection and hiring of subcontractors.
• Analyzes and resolves more complex questions and problems as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent education, training and experience
• Minimum 3 years’ experience
• In-depth knowledge of applicable systems design, such as HVAC, plumbing, etc., as well as general understanding of system operations.
• Ability to read mechanical and plumbing plans.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong computer skills, including CADD and Microsoft Office, such as Excel
