Job summary

Milwaukee Tool is seeking a Project Engineer II to drive New Product Development and improve hand tools efficiency and ergonomics. You will lead engineering projects, work cross-functionally with global teams, and balance cost, schedule, and risk to deliver disruptive innovations.

Requirements include a BS in Engineering or equivalent, 4+ years of experience, CAD proficiency, and willingness to travel internationally and domestically (~15%). PMP/CAPM is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or educational equivalent is required.
  • Preferred degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant working experience.
  • Ability to travel internationally and domestically several times per year (approx. 15%).
  • Ability to use CAD is required.
  • PMP/CAPM certification is a plus but not required.
  • Strong problem-solving, design, testing and manufacturing process understanding.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple small to medium scale engineering projects.
  • Collaborate with global Design, Marketing, Quality & Reliability, Manufacturing, Purchasing and Supply Chain teams.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans and drive execution balancing cost, schedule, performance and risk.
  • Monitor progress and provide monthly status updates to senior management.
  • Visit manufacturing cells and suppliers to troubleshoot and maintain communications.
  • Apply DFMA and knowledge of manufacturing processes to mitigate risks.

Preferred degree in Mechanical Engineering.Minimum of 4 years of relevant working experience.Ability to travel to Internationally & domestically several times of year is required (15% travel).Ability to manage several simultaneous projects is required.Highly developed mechanical aptitude is required including a broad knowledge of engineering materials used in hand tools, and an understanding of the manufacturing processes associated with these materials.Ability to use CAD is required.To be successful in this role you will need to be a self-starter who has a strong problem-solving skill set and understands design, testing, and manufacturing processes (grinding, stamping, heat treatment, functional coatings, machining, etc).Able to provide candid overview of upcoming workload and comfortable escalating potential resource bottlenecks.Understanding of DFMA and various cost drivers associated with materials, labor & overhead is required.PMP/CAPM certification is a plus but not required.We provide these great perks and benefits:Robust health, dental and vision insurance plans.Generous 401 (K) savings plan.Education assistance.On-site wellness, fitness center, food, coffee service, and much more!
