Job summary

Jabil is seeking a Project Engineer II to lead and execute engineering initiatives from concept through implementation within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The role emphasizes coordinating cross-functional teams, driving technical solutions for automation, controls, and process improvements while ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery. Strong project management and CAD skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 3–5 years of experience in project engineering, automation engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related technical role.
  • Proven experience managing engineering projects from concept development through implementation and production release.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, manufacturing processes, industrial automation, and controls systems.
  • Experience with PLC programming, HMI development, industrial networking, motion control, robotics, or machine integration.
  • Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, or equivalent engineering design tools.
  • Strong project management skills including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead small to medium-sized engineering projects from initiation through completion.
  • Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, risk assessments, and mitigation plans.
  • Design, develop, and implement automation, controls, manufacturing, and process-improvement solutions.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, technical evaluations, and root-cause analyses to support engineering decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, and R&D to ensure successful project execution.
  • Support equipment specifications, procurement, installation, validation, and production ramp-up activities.
  • Prepare and present project updates, technical reports, design reviews, and status presentations to stakeholders.
  • Identify and resolve technical challenges while minimizing project risks and schedule impacts.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, industry regulations, safety requirements, and quality systems.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians by providing technical guidance and project support.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction.
  • Support new product introductions (NPI), manufacturing transfers, and process optimization efforts.

Project Engineer II – Responsibilities

As a Project Engineer II at Jabil, you will lead and execute engineering projects from concept through implementation, ensuring delivery within scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements.   • Experience in assembly manufacturing, medical devices, or other high‑volume manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with equipment validation, IQ/OQ/PQ protocols, and process qualification activities.
  • Knowledge of MES systems, vision systems, robotics, and data acquisition platforms.

The pay range for this role is $87,300 - $157,200. Job‑related, non‑discriminatory factors used to determine the actual offered rate include qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity.
