Description

Central Life Sciences is searching for a Project Engineer II in Dallas, TX. The role develops, coordinates, and implements engineering projects that launch new consumer chemical products, improve plant performance, reduce inefficiencies and delays, enhance quality, and protect workers and the environment.

MEASURES OF SUCCESS
  • Participates in new or improved product development by recommending appropriate machines, tools, and equipment, and by assessing the feasibility of new technologies.
  • Provides technical support for production startups and existing lines, recommending efficiency improvements.
  • Promotes a safe workplace by conducting production floor visits, ensuring compliance with site standards, assisting with job safety analysis, modifying equipment safeties, interlocks, and guarding, and helping develop LOTO plans.
  • Designs and develops production machinery and equipment.
  • Recommends and justifies capital expenditures and prepares required Capital Appropriation Requests (CARs).
  • Examines processes periodically to update techniques, quality, and overall efficiency.
  • Participates in long‑range planning for major layout changes, new process integration, and equipment selection.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable policies, laws, and regulations issued by Central Life Sciences, OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Collaborates with production, marketing, development, quality assurance, and purchasing staff to evaluate, plan, and implement changes.
  • Communicates cost, quality, and risk data regarding proposals.
  • Works directly with external organizations (equipment design/manufacturing companies, contractors, consultants, etc.) to ensure timely, cost‑effective project completion.
  • Prepares periodic project status reports, recommendations, problem analyses, and cost analyses.
  • Assists in maintenance and adherence to Departmental ISO Standard Operating Procedures.
IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering from an ABET‑accredited institution.
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment serving in an engineering capacity.
  • Experience validating equipment and processes.
  • Collaborative problem solver capable of working with cross‑functional teams.
  • Experience managing projects or programs.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong working knowledge of robotics and control systems.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and driving Continuous Improvement.
  • Experience in one or more of the following is required: Injection Molding, Thermoforming, Dry Blending, Liquid Blending, Extrusion, Granulation.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks.
