About The Role

Project Engineers support construction management functions in the electrical construction industry. Projects may include work for federal, state, and municipal clients across the Denver metro area. The Project Engineer assists in preparing plans, specifications, and provides general project support to senior management. This location-based position involves some travel to work sites in Dacono, Denver, Longmont, Loveland, Highlands Ranch, Henderson, and Fort Collins. A company vehicle and fuel card are provided.

Since 1912, Sturgeon Electric Company, Inc., a subsidiary of MYR Group, Inc., has provided electrical construction services throughout the western U.S. The company has divisions specializing in power line construction and commercial/industrial electrical projects, including services like BIM and pre-construction.

Essential Functions
  • Interpret construction drawings
  • Review plans and specifications, prepare checklists
  • Coordinate sub-contractor submissions
  • Assist with estimates and scheduling
  • Maintain accurate records
  • Prepare statements of work, reports, and change management documents
  • Promote safety and ensure compliance
  • Inspect equipment, materials, workmanship, and progress
  • Ensure procedures and materials conform to standards
  • Attend work sites regularly
  • Perform other duties as assigned
About You
Project Engineer II Qualifications
  • 3-5 years experience in commercial electrical or general construction
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Project or Primavera
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Problem-solving skills with attention to detail
