Job summary

JMT is seeking a Project Engineer I to support Construction Management in the assigned region. You will work to maintain excellent relationships with clients, designers, and contractors while actively managing project schedules from inception to closeout.

Responsibilities include participating in weekly progress meetings, uploading project information, developing solutions to issues, and preparing change orders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years construction experience.
• Experience working with local agencies such as PRT, PennDOT, PA Turnpike, PGH2O, ALCOSAN, and ACAA.

JMT is seeking a Project Engineer I to be responsible for supporting Construction Management services in the assigned region.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

• Maintain excellent relationships with clients, designers, and contractors
• Actively manage project schedule from inception to close out
• Participate in weekly progress meetings, create minutes, assign action items, and follow up
• Upload and manage all pertinent project information
• Develop and implement collaborative solutions to project issues and problems
• Prepare project related change orders and obtain approvals
• Manage job work item turn over and close-out efficiently to meet owner/user expectations
• Assist and coordinate with 3rd party engineering and special inspections requirements
• Coordinate with various stakeholders involved in construction projects

Required Skills

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field from an accredited engineering or construction management program
• Minimum of 10 +/- years of construction experience
• Experience working with local agencies such as PRT, PennDOT, PA Turnpike, PGH2O, ALCOSAN, and ACAA

Preferred Experience

• Certified Construction Manager (CCM)
• Registered Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE)
• Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10-hour construction safety training
• Experience with water and wastewater, rail and transit, and/or aviation
• NASSCO Certification including PACP, MACP, and LACP

Working Conditions

Work is performed within a general office, construction field office or on a construction project site environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing, climbing and walking. Most locations provide an environment where lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
