Job summary

Ward Getz & Associates LLC (WGA) is seeking a Project Engineer to perform and coordinate hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for drainage and floodplain projects in Texas. You will develop models using HEC-RAS/HEC-HMS/EPA-SWMM and collaborate with managers, clients, and regulatory agencies to deliver compliant design solutions.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree and a TX PE license (or ability to obtain within 6 months), with CFM preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; advanced degrees preferred.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Preferred Certifications: CFM.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and coordinate hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for drainage and floodplain projects.
  • Develop and review hydrologic models using HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, EPA-SWMM, and other software.
  • Coordinate with project managers, clients, municipalities, permitting authorities, and regulatory agencies to support approvals and successful delivery.
  • Support regulatory submittals including FEMA CLOMR/LOMR and floodplain permitting.
  • Review plans, calculations, models, and deliverables for compliance with project requirements and criteria.
  • Participate in project meetings and communicate technical findings to clients and teams.
  • Provide mentoring to junior engineers and assist with scope, schedule, and budgets.
  • Represent WGA professionally with clients, agencies, partners, and at industry events.
