Job summary

French & Parrello Associates (FPA) is seeking a Project Engineer for our Highway/Traffic department. The role focuses on preparing roadway design plans, specs, and cost estimates, with oversight of geometric design, drainage, and maintenance of traffic plans in the Boston area.

The ideal candidate holds a Civil Engineering degree with 4–8 years of highway design experience and a Massachusetts PE. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and knowledge of AASHTO/MassDOT standards are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • 4–8 years of progressive highway/roadway design experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Massachusetts.
  • Experience on county/municipal projects, including state/federal funding.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Strong knowledge of AASHTO and MassDOT roadway design standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation

The projected compensation range for this position is $90,000 to $115,000. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as experience, education and skill set.
