Job summary

KLA Industries, Inc. in Savannah, GA is seeking a Project Engineer for a major interstate widening project. The role focuses on submittals, RFIs, quantity takeoffs, and cost tracking, with real field work on bridges and roadways.

You will support senior staff and collaborate with DOT inspectors and engineers, relocating locally or remaining if already in Savannah, for a multiyear program with growth toward Senior Project Engineer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
• Hands on with submittals, RFIs, quantities and cost tracking.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; Primavera P6 is a plus.
• Bridge experience is a plus.
• SCDOT, GDOT or other state DOT experience is a plus.
• EIT is a plus.
• Based in the Savannah area or ready to relocate for a multiyear project.

Responsibilities

• Run submittals and RFIs for your scope.
• Build quantity takeoffs, project logs and pay application backup.
• Track cost against budget and help with monthly cost reports.
• Help update the project schedule in Primavera P6.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and material deliveries.
• Work with DOT inspectors and design engineers on field issues.
• Read and interpret plans, specs, traffic control and environmental requirements.
• Spend real time in the field on bridge and roadway work.
• Support the Senior Project Engineer, Project Manager and Superintendent.
