Job description

Suyash Consulting, LLC (SuYash) is actively seeking a Highway Project Engineer to work in our Columbia, MD Office. The highway design engineer will serve in a technical role under the direction of a project manager for a wide array of planning and design services.

Responsibilities:

Design production of transportation projects in accordance with good engineering practice.

Calculate quantity estimates, developing horizontal and vertical alignments, cross-section development, drainage design, working with digital terrain models, and designing traffic control plans; coordinating and scheduling work to meet project goals on time and budget.

Coordinate with internal team members to ensure project completion by the defined deadline and established quality.

Preparation of technical reports and technical documentation of calculations performed.

Plans, Specifications and Construction cost estimating.

Requirements:

BS in Civil Engineering or related discipline.

5-12 years of previous roadway design/analysis experience (including internships) is preferred.

Registered Professional Engineer in Maryland (or ability to apply for reciprocity)

Previous work experience with AASHTO standards and MDOT SHA projects a plus.

Proficiency in MS Office, MicroStation, InRoads a plus.

Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Working Conditions for All Positions:

Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sitting in nature but may require occasional standing, and walking. Field work is required on occasion where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required as needed.
