Job summary

Suyash Consulting, LLC is seeking a Structural Engineering Project Manager to lead the Columbia, MD office. The role focuses on expanding the Structural Division, managing project scope, schedule and budget, and coordinating client presentations.

The ideal candidate will bring a Civil Engineering degree, PE license in Maryland, and 8–20 years of structural design/bridge experience, with proficiency in MicroStation, AutoCAD and major structural analysis tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from ABET accredited university.
• 8–20 years of experience in structural design projects/bridge inspections.
• Registered Professional Engineer in Maryland (or ability to apply for reciprocity).
• 5+ years of MDOT SHA/MDTA highway design or Maryland Design-Build project experience, including management of structural design projects.
• Proficiency with MS Office, MicroStation, and industry-standard bridge design/analysis software.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis of bridge systems using MIDAS, AASHTOWare Bridge Rating, STAAD, Conspan and similar tools.
• Assist and check design calculations.
• Collaborate with Structural Designers to develop details and construction plans using MicroStation or AutoCAD.
• Prepare quantities, specs, and construction documents for bridge repair projects.
• Conduct bridge and structure inspections and prepare reports.
• Mentor junior staff and manage project schedules and budgets.
• Develop project scope and coordinate resources and marketing proposals.
• Present to clients and manage open-end contract task proposals.

Job description

Suyash Consulting, LLC (SuYash) is actively seeking a Structural Engineering Project Manager with a BS in Civil Engineering (Structural Engineering focus) to work in our Columbia, MD Office. The ideal candidate will lead and expand Structural Division, manage objectives of projects including scope, schedule and budget.

Responsibilities:

Perform structural analysis of bridge systems and components using Midas, AASHTOWare Bridge Rating, STAAD, Conspan, and other similar software tools.

Assist and check design calculations performed by others.

Work alongside our Structural Designers to develop structural details and construction plans using Microstation or AutoCAD

Prepare geometric layouts, construction specifications, and material quantity calculations for bridge repair and replacement projects

Perform bridge and other structure condition inspections and prepare inspection reports.

Training and mentoring junior staff.

Prepare and monitor schedules, budgets, accounts receivable and manpower requirements and prepares invoices.

Develop and coordinate project scope.

Oversee and manage technical resources on the project team.

Participate in client presentations.

Development of open-end contract task proposals.

Coordinate and assist with marketing proposals.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related course work to Structural Engineering from ABET accredited university.

8-20 years of experience in structural design projects/bridge inspections.

Registered Professional Engineer in Maryland (or ability to apply for reciprocity)

5+ years of experience with MDOT SHA/MDTA highway design and/or Maryland Design-Build projects. This experience shall include the management of structural design projects.

Candidates should be proficient with MS Office, MicroStation along with industry standard bridge design and analysis software.

Experience working on MDOT-SHA, MDOT-MTA, MDTA, WMATA, VDOT, DDOT, WVDOH, or AMTRAK projects preferred.

Experience working with local clients at the county and state level preferred.

Project management and business development experience preferred.

Experience managing multi-discipline project teams preferred.

Demonstrated ability and experience in preparing Letter of Responses and Technical Proposals preferred.

Excellent communication skills, including leading client presentations and interviews.

Full Time/Part Time

Working Conditions for All Positions:

Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sitting in nature but may require occasional standing, and walking. Field work is required on occasion where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required as needed.
