Job summary

Reeves Young in Sugar Hill, GA is seeking a Project Engineer - Heavy Civil to support the Project Management Team on subcontractor coordination, submittals, and RFI logs. You will develop logs, review drawings, and help manage schedule and costs.

The ideal candidate has construction industry experience, strong communication, and proficiency with Procore/Project Sight, Primavera P6, MS Project, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Experience in the construction industry.
• Ability to read and understand project documents (drawings, specs, RFIs, submittals).
• Proficiency with scheduling and documentation software (Procore/Project Sight, P6, MS Project).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and technical support to the Project Management Team.
• Develop and maintain logs for submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, etc.
• Process RFIs, review schedules, costs and implications.
• Familiarize with contract drawings and specs.
• Receive, review, forward and track submittals and change orders.
• Perform quantity take-offs and coordinate with trade contractors.

What Can You Expect

• This position provides administrative and technical assistance to the Project Management Team.
• Developing and maintaining appropriate logs for submittals, shop drawings, RFI logs, etc.. (any project documentation)
• Process \"Request for Information\", review schedule, costs and ramifications of each.
• Become familiar with contract drawings and specifications.
• Receive, review, forward and track status of submittals and change orders.
• Perform quantity take-offs and contact trade contractors for change order requests.

What You Bring to the Table

• Experience within the Construction Industry
• Must possess the ability to read and understand project documents, e.g., drawings, specifications, RFI's, submittals, subcontracts, and the owner agreement terms and conditions specific to this role.
• Must possess working knowledge of or demonstrate willingness to learn how to use the following software applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe, Bluebeam, Procore/Project Sight, P6 Primavera, MS Project, Viewpoint, Viewpoint Field Work Center, and HCSS.
• Ability to both manage and be part of a team
• Ability to develop strong business plans
• Experience utilizing Microsoft products + scheduling software
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
