Job summary

Reeves Young is seeking a Project Engineer - Heavy Civil in the Atlanta, GA area. This role provides administrative and technical support to the Project Management Team, assisting with logs for submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings, and reviewing contract drawings and specifications.

You will manage submittals, change orders, and cost implications, perform quantity take-offs, and coordinate with trade contractors while contributing to schedules using Microsoft products and scheduling software.

Qualifications

• Experience in the construction industry and ability to read project documents (drawings, specs, submittals).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and scheduling software.
• Able to work in a team and develop business plans.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and technical support to the Project Management Team.
• Develop and maintain logs for submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and other project documents.
• Process RFIs, review schedules, and analyze costs and implications.
• Familiarize with contract drawings and specifications.
• Receive, review, forward, and track submittals and change orders.
• Perform quantity take-offs and coordinate with trade contractors for CO requests.

What Can You Expect

• This position provides administrative and technical assistance to the Project Management Team.
• Developing and maintaining appropriate logs for submittals, shop drawings, RFI logs, etc.. (any project documentation)
• Process "Request for Information", review schedule, costs and ramifications of each.
• Become familiar with contract drawings and specifications.
• Receive, review, forward and track status of submittals and change orders.
• Perform quantity take-offs and contact trade contractors for change order requests.

What You Bring to the Table

• Experience within the Construction Industry
• Must possess the ability to read and understand project documents, e.g., drawings, specifications, RFI's, submittals, subcontracts, and the owner agreement terms and conditions specific to this role.
• Must possess working knowledge of or demonstrate willingness to learn how to use the following software applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe, Bluebeam, Procore/Project Sight, P6 Primavera, MS Project, Viewpoint, Viewpoint Field Work Center, and HCSS.
• Ability to both manage and be part of a team
• Ability to develop strong business plans
• Experience utilizing Microsoft products + scheduling software
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
