Our work includes mass excavation, grading, site development, landfill construction and closure, utilities and underground work, aggregate production, dams and levees, environmental restoration, dewatering, demolition, and emergency construction services.

Position Summary
The Project Engineer will support the Project Manager and field operations team in the successful planning, coordination, documentation, and execution of heavy civil construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with day-to-day project management and field operations.
- Review plans, specifications, contracts, and other project documents.
- Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, and other project
- Assist with project scheduling, cost tracking, forecasting, and progress reporting.
- Track quantities, production, materials, equipment, and labor.
- Review subcontractor and supplier documentation, invoices, and pay applications.
- Coordinate with owners, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel.
- Assist with preparation of project estimates, budgets, and change-order pricing.
- Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
- Participate in project meetings and prepare meeting notes and action items.
- Visit project sites regularly to monitor progress, verify quantities, and assist field personnel.
- Help identify potential project issues and work with the project team to develop solutions.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; equivalent construction experience may be considered.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to read and understand civil construction plans and specifications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work effectively with field crews, project managers, subcontractors, clients, and engineers.
- Willingness to travel to and work at construction project sites throughout Northern and Central California.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Preferred
- 1-5 years of experience in heavy civil construction, engineering, or project management experience with earthwork, grading, underground utilities, landfill construction, environmental work, dams/levees, or similar heavy civil projects.
- Experience with construction scheduling, estimating, quantity tracking, and cost control.
- Familiarity with Bluebeam, Primavera P6, HCSS, Procore, or other construction/project management software.
- EIT certification or progress toward professional engineering licensure.
- Experience working with public works contracts and prevailing-wage projects.
