Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Project Engineer in Salt Lake City to lead planning, procurement, scheduling, and cost control for heavy civil projects. The role includes coordinating documentation, supervising staff, and managing subcontract activities to ensure timely project completion.

Ideal candidates will have CMAR exposure and experience with documentation controls. The position offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits in a dynamic ENR firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental Engineering or Construction Management.
• Experience in CMAR projects preferred.
• Knowledge of project document controls and change management.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute projects: material procurement, expediting, work planning, mentoring engineering staff, and project close-out documentation.
• Assist with developing and maintaining project schedule and costing system.
• Monitor inventory, equipment and resources; track labor productivity for self-perform work.
• Coordinate drawings, submissions, specifications, changes and document control; manage change administration.
• Oversee subcontract administration: define scope, write subcontracts, respond to inquiries, track progress, manage back charges.
• Prepare and track progress claims and estimates.

As a Project Engineer your role is:

• Project Planning & Execution: Material procurement and expediting, assistance in work planning for self-perform and work activities, oversight and mentoring of engineering staff, Project close-out: involved in coordinating of documentation - deficiencies, warranties, maintenance and final payments
• Schedule: Assisting with the preparation and maintenance of the project schedule and costing system
• Project Cost Control: Inventory control – monitoring and tracking of equipment and resources, labor productivity monitoring for self-perform work activities
• Project Document Controls & Procedures: Coordinating and reviewing drawings, submissions, specifications, changes and document control, Change management – responsible for set-up, issuing documentation, pricing and change administration
• Subcontract Management: Subcontract administration – defining scope of work, writing subcontracts, answering inquiries, monitoring progress, tracking and processing back charges
• Project Administration: Preparing and tracking progress claims and estimates
