Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in Texas.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in heat tracing.

Responsibilities

  • Review all project specifications and documentation to understand the scope of work.
  • Develop the Project Design Criteria.
  • Communicate project requirements to team members, including quality, schedule, and technical restrictions.
  • Ensure all team members follow the Quality Plan and address deficiencies.
  • Lead all technical aspects of the project, including setup, tool selection, role identification, and work allocation.
  • Identify and evaluate scope creep, reporting it to the Project Manager.
  • Report evolving requirements on schedule, staffing, and budget to the Project Manager.
  • Maintain the Project Design folder structure.
  • Provide input to develop global and regional tools and procedures.
  • Perform other duties assigned by management.

Job description

The Role

In coordination with the PM (when one is assigned), responsible for completing heat‑tracing systems according to customer specifications to ensure satisfaction and profitability. Communicate with clients on all technical and commercial matters (if the Lead Designer also serves as PM). Manage engineering hours and generate manpower requirements for efficient execution. This role reports to the Manager, Engineering and is based at 8880 Telephone Rd, Houston, TX 77061 (near Hobby Airport).

What You Will Do
  • Review all project specifications and documentation to understand the scope of work.
  • Develop the Project Design Criteria.
  • Communicate project requirements to team members, including quality, schedule, and technical restrictions.
  • Ensure all team members follow the Quality Plan and address deficiencies.
  • Lead all technical aspects of the project, including setup, tool selection, role identification, and work allocation.

Knowledge and Experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or Engineering Technology preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field considered with industry experience.
  • Licensed professional engineer in Texas (US).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in heat tracing.
