Job summary

Thermon is seeking a Designer who will work with experienced designers and engineers to develop heat tracing system design packages for industrial projects. This role offers hands-on AutoCAD experience and exposure to industry best practices within a supportive team.

You’ll receive guidance from senior teammates while building the skills needed to become a proficient design professional, contributing to high-quality design work and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field.
• Basic understanding of electrical or mechanical engineering principles.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD or other CAD software through coursework, projects, internships, or personal experience.
• Internship, co-op, academic project, or hands-on experience related to engineering design or CAD drafting.

Responsibilities

• Create and update design documents such as heat tracing isometrics, panel schedules, material lists, and location plans using AutoCAD.
• Assist with designing heat tracing systems based on customer requirements and project specifications.
• Review project documents, including P&IDs and piping drawings, to understand project scope and design needs.
• Support the preparation and revision of technical drawings throughout the project lifecycle.
• Follow established design standards, processes, and quality requirements.
• Maintain organized project files and ensure documentation is properly controlled and stored.
• Participate in design reviews and learn from feedback from experienced team members.
• Collaborate with designers, engineers, and project teams to deliver high-quality results.
