J.H. Findorff & Son Inc. seeks a Project Engineer Intern to gain hands-on experience across preconstruction through closeout on a large student housing project.

You’ll work with project managers, superintendents, and field teams to build technical, financial, and leadership skills for future roles in project management or field operations. You’ll support RFIs, submittals, change orders, scheduling, procurement tracking, and constructability reviews while learning compliance and cost-tracking

Competenze

• Internship, co-op experience, or exposure to real-world construction, field engineering, estimating, or project management.
• Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills with independence when needed.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Basic understanding of construction processes, building systems, and project coordination.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook with ability to learn construction management software.

Mansioni

• Support Project Management: assist with RFIs, submittals, change orders, document control and project communication.
• Scheduling & Coordination: help develop and update project schedules and coordinate with field teams and subcontractors.
• Procurement & Contracts: support subcontract preparation, bidding activities, procurement tracking, and documentation.
• Preconstruction exposure: gain estimating, quantity takeoffs, bid package prep, constructability reviews, and outreach.
• Field Operations support: assist Superintendents with safety, material coordination, cost tracking, productivity reporting, and quality control.
• Financial awareness: assist with cost tracking, invoice coding, change orders, and monthly reporting.
• Leadership & communication: work with project teams, clients, architects, and trade partners.
