Role Overview: Are you ready to lead in creating mission-critical solutions? As a Project Engineer supporting the engineering and depot solutions team in Indianapolis, Indiana, you'll work on rapidly developing and deploying systems for the U.S. government. From aircraft modifications to prototyping technologies, you'll drive high-impact projects vital to national defense. This role offers leadership growth, mentorship, and contribution to mission success.

Key Responsibilities: As the Project Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Technical Leadership: Lead multidisciplinary teams to develop and deploy solutions that meet mission objectives. Provide oversight for projects involving system modifications, platform integrations, and prototyping.
• Agile Project Management: Plan, monitor, and execute projects within compressed timelines, managing schedules, budgets, and risks while ensuring quality.
• System Integration and Testing: Coordinate integration of mission systems, sensors, and communication tech; oversee validation and testing under operational conditions.
• Customer and Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with government agencies, operators, and users to define requirements and refine solutions, maintaining strong relationships.
• Compliance and Documentation: Ensure deliverables meet standards, specifications, and DoD compliance; maintain detailed documentation throughout project cycles.
• Problem Solving and Adaptability: Address technical and operational challenges with innovative solutions, managing time-sensitive projects requiring discretion.

Required Skills:

• Background in systems engineering, including requirements management, integration, verification, and validation.
• Proficiency with project planning tools like Microsoft Project and scheduling best practices.
• Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) and experience in tracking project metrics.
• Experience managing technical projects within tight timelines.
• Ability to evaluate risks, plan mitigations, and keep projects on schedule and within budget.
• Leadership skills for managing multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong communication skills for stakeholder engagement and collaboration.
• Understanding of configuration and quality management principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Teams, and communication platforms.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like Azure DevOps.
• Basic understanding of technical drawings and documentation.
• Ability to obtain or maintain a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance.

Desired Skills:

• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
• Familiarity with IEEE 15288 and AS9100 standards.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 4+ years of experience; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
