Job summary

CPH in Linthicum Heights, Maryland, seeks a Project Engineer (EIT/EI) for land development. Under a professional engineer, you will join a team to design, analyze, and prepare construction documents, permit submittals, and coordination with clients and agencies.

The ideal candidate holds a Civil/Environmental Engineering degree with 1–5 years of experience, CAD skills, and an E.I. certificate or ability to obtain. Regular site investigations and travel are part of the role.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering; 1–5 years of design and permitting experience in civil/land development.
• Ability to model stormwater, design and manage land development projects; review code requirements; maintain schedules and budgets.
• CAD experience desirable.
• E.I. certificate or ability to obtain upon starting.
• Strong organization and communication skills; ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design/production of technical reports, calculations, and construction documents.
• Prepare presentation, design details, and construction documents.
• Prepare permit applications and submittal packages to agencies with jurisdiction.
• Coordinate with clients, subconsultants, permitting agencies, utilities, contractors.
• Travel to perform site investigations and construction observation.
• Prepare specifications, shop drawing reviews, field observations, inspection reports, and other construction administration tasks.
• Collaborate with other engineers, architects, disciplines, PMs, and BD teams.
• Research and implement relevant codes and client requirements.
• Adhere to project scope, schedules, budgets, and quality control.

CPH has an opening in its Linthicum Heights, Maryland office for the following position:

Project Engineer (EIT/EI) – Land Development.

Hiring Bonus of up to $1,000 for selected candidate!

Duties Include

• Working under a Professional Engineer as a member of a team in the design and preparation of technical reports, analysis/calculations and construction documents.
• Preparation of accurate presentation, design, details and construction documents.
• Preparation of permit applications and submittal packages to Agencies having jurisdiction.
• Coordination with clients, subconsultants, permitting agencies, utility providers, contractors and other parties associated with the project.
• Periodic travel to perform site investigations, and construction observation.
• Preparation of specifications, shop drawing review, field observations, preparation of inspection reports and other construction administration tasks.
• Collaboration with other firm engineers, architects, disciplines, project managers, and business development teams.
• Research, interpretation and implementation of relevant codes and client requirements.
• Implementation and utilization of CPH and client standards and templates.
• Review of documents prepared by others and implementation of project quality control.
• Development and adherence to project scope, schedules, and budgets.
• Management of clients and national account programs.

Requirements

• Ideal candidate will have a B.S. Degree in Civil or Environmental engineering with 1-5 years of experience in design and permitting of civil/land development projects in Maryland with the ability to model stormwater, design and manage small to large scale land development projects, research and review code requirements, and maintain project schedule & budget.
• CAD experience is desirable.
• E.I Certificate or ability to obtain upon starting is required.
• Willing to work as a team and have strong organization and communication skills.
• Will require intermittent travel to assist with site investigation, construction observation and project transmittals.
• Maryland utility design experience a plus.
