Job summary

Vulcan Materials Company seeks an engineering-focused intern/early-career professional to draft and update 2D and 3D CAD drawings for plant layout modifications. The role supports CapEx projects, coordinates with welding, controls, and electrical teams, and helps prepare BOMs and cost assessments for senior staff review.

Responsibilities include field inspections, audits of crushing and conveying systems, and collaboration with external contractors to ensure on-site project success.

Qualifications

• BS degree strongly preferred for engineering roles.
• Experience in mining, industrial, or construction environments is preferred but not required.
• Prior internships in construction-related industries are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Draft, design, or update 2D & 3D CAD drawings for processing plant layouts.
• Support CapEx projects including structural modifications and mechanical upgrades.
• Collaborate with welding, Process Control, Electrical teams to drive project results.
• Prepare BOMs, estimates, and cost assessments for senior staff review.
• Conduct routine field inspections and assess site conditions.
• Shadow engineers during audits to evaluate crushing, screening, washing, and conveying systems.
• Coordinate with external contractors and field personnel on site projects.
• Prepare project status reports, technical docs, and meeting minutes.
