Job summary

CREW is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to lead end-to-end project execution as our decarbonization technology scales. You will oversee installation, commissioning, and operations at wastewater facilities, coordinating with partners, suppliers, and engineering services firms across the U.S.

Travel to sites is expected. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 4–8 years in civil/ mechanical/ or related fields, with strong communication and budget skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical, civil, electrical, environmental, or mechanical engineering (or similar field).
  • 4-8 years of experience in civil engineering, construction management, mechanical engineering or technical project management.
  • Strong writing, project management, and communication skills.
  • Hands-on and detail oriented approach when delivering projects.
  • Financial acumen, including budget building, and cost control.
  • Experience sourcing and overseeing subcontractors and ensuring they deliver on project requirements.
  • Startup mindset where adaptability, creativity, agility, and execution are keys to success.
  • Able to travel 30-60%.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and comfortable using power and hand tools.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record.
  • You practice extreme ownership (no task is too small).
  • You love being in the trenches with your team and working with high empathy.
  • You have a growth mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end project management, including creating and maintaining timelines, budgets, and resource allocation across multiple operational sites.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering and operation teams to ensure successful installation and performance of CREW’s technology.
  • Manage vendor and contractor relationships, including procurement and supply chain logistics for hardware components, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.
  • Prepare project deliverables including scope of work, request for proposal, cost estimates, schedules, presentations, and other related engineering project documentation.
  • Develop detailed work plans, including engineering specifications and execution planning.
  • Conduct and manage fieldwork associated with design and construction services which includes but is not limited to: construction inspection, basic process piping installation, training, commissioning, startup.
  • Servicing of deployments which includes but is not limited to: follow-up support with on-site operators, coordination with equipment vendors or suppliers.
