Project Engineer | Custom Residential Construction

Pinemar Ardmore, PA | Full-Time

Pinemar builds custom homes and complex residential renovations where craftsmanship, communication, and execution matter.

We're looking for a highly organized Project Engineer who wants to build a career in residential construction and grow toward Project Management. This is an opportunity for someone early in their career, including a recent graduate with a degree in Construction Management or a related field, to gain practical experience across the full project lifecycle.

You'll work alongside Project Managers, Superintendents, architects, designers, trade partners, vendors, and clients to help move projects from planning through completion. You'll gain hands‑on experience with drawings, budgets, procurement, field coordination, change management, scheduling, and closeout.

What You'll Do

• Support Project Managers with custom residential construction and major renovations
• Review architectural drawings, specifications, and project documentation
• Manage RFIs, submittals, selections, documentation, and project correspondence
• Assist with subcontractor bidding, scope review, and buyout
• Prepare and maintain purchase orders, subcontracts, and related documentation
• Track long‑lead materials, selections, and procurement requirements
• Assist with project budgets, committed costs, allowances, and cost forecasting
• Prepare and document change orders accurately and promptly
• Coordinate information between the field, Project Manager, architect, designer, and trade partners
• Maintain current drawings, specifications, and project documentation
• Participate in project meetings and follow through on action items
• Identify conflicts, missing information, and potential issues before they affect the field
• Support scheduling and short‑term project planning
• Assist with punch lists, turnover, and closeout documentation
• Visit jobsites regularly to understand project progress and field conditions

What We're Looking For

• 0-5 years of experience in construction, project engineering, assistant project management, estimating, or a related field
• A degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Building Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent hands‑on construction experience
• Recent graduates with a relevant degree are encouraged to apply
• Ability to read and understand architectural and construction drawings
• Strong organization and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Comfort working with budgets, numbers, and detailed documentation
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on commitments
• Professional communication with construction professionals, architects, designers, trade partners, and clients
• Interest in how buildings are designed and constructed
• Experience with custom residential construction or major renovations is a plus
