Job summary

Mid-States Millwright & Builders is seeking a Project Engineer to own planning and scheduling for construction projects across the U.S. You will build schedules, sequence work, and ensure field has drawings, materials, and equipment on time and on budget.

You will work with project managers, superintendents, and assistants to connect design, manufacturing, finance, and field operations, with room to grow as the company expands.

Qualifications

• Degree in construction management, engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 2–5+ years in construction, project engineering, scheduling, or related field.
• Proficient with construction scheduling methods and CP scheduling.
• Proficient with MS Project and MS Excel; able to interpret drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Build baseline project schedules with PM and Superintendent from contract documents and manufact. lead times.
• Keep schedules current and produce short-term look-ahead schedules for field use.
• Track progress with daily field reports and RFIs; identify delays and recovery options.
• Coordinate fabrication and delivery timing with design and manufacturing teams.
• Develop crew loading plans and production-rate calculations for planning.
• Manage submittals, RFIs through to resolution; support procurement and ERP processes.
• Provide field with layout drawings, lift plans, and installation details.
• Lead schedule reviews with customers, subs, and internal teams.
• Incorporate safety planning and OSHA standards into sequencing.
• Support commissioning, start-up, closeout, and as-builts including documentation.
